Men's Soccer Shuts Out UC Davis 2-0 At Home

Riverside, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team (1-10-0, 1-3-0) defeated UC Davis (5-5-2, 2-0-1) by a final score of 2-0 Saturday night. Second half goals from junior Antonio Lokossou and senior Ricardo Ruiz gave the Highlanders their first win of the season.
GAME NOTES
Lokossou's goal in the 62nd minute was his team-leading third of the season.
Ruiz scored his second goal of the year in the 90th minute. He has now scored at least two goals in three consecutive seasons.
The 2-0 scoreline gave UC Riverside its first shutout of the season. It was also the Highlanders' first shutout in their last nine conference matches.
The Highlanders have now scored in five consecutive matches.
UC Riverside tallied six shots on the night, just one more than their season-low. However, their .333 shot percentage set a new season-high.
