Eugene, OR—UC Riverside long jumper Tayler Fleming earned All-America Honorable Mention honors, Thursday, with her 24th place finish at the NCAA Track & Field Championships. Her top mark was a leap of 5.64m (18' 6").
The All-America honor capped off a season that saw Fleming finish third in the Big West in the Heptathlon, and second in the long jump. At NCAA West Prelims, she posted a seasonal PR on her last attempt, to capture the final spot from the region in the NCAA Championship.
"I'm a little disappointed in my marks from today," said Fleming, "but I'm going to take this experience, and use it as motivation to come back next year and perform even better."
The 2016-17 is still alive for a handful of UC Riverside track and field athletes who will compete in the USA Track & Field Junior Nationals in Sacramento, California from Thursday, June 22 through Sunday, June 25.
