Jakeishya Le Tied For Second, Women's Golf Tied For Seventh At Golfweek Conference Challenge

Wolcott, CO—UC Riverside's Jakeishya Le is in a five-way tie for second place at the Golfweek Conference Challenge after shooting a two-under-par 70 on day one of the three-day tournament. The junior is just one shot back of Michigan's Elodie Van Dievoet for the overall lead. As a team, the Highlanders are tied for seventh, nine shots back of front-running San Diego State (view leaderboards).

TOURNAMENT NOTES
Serena Chon's 71 is the lowest score ever shot by a UC Riverside freshman on her first day of collegiate competition.

Jakeishya Le and Chon each recorded a team-high four birdies on the day.

Of the 18 teams participating in the Golfweek Conference Challenge, 11 participated in the NCAA postseason a year ago.

Four of five Highlanders—Le, Chon, Hannah Facchini and Julia Sander—birded hole number three.
