RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UCR fell in the late stages of Saturday night's game two with CSU Bakersfield, 7-5, at the Riverside Sports Complex.
Andrew Gamez went 2 for 4 with a run, while
Danny Carnazzo extended his hit streak to four games and reached base in his seventh straight contest with a 1-for-2 evening while plating a run.
The Highlanders jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead, highlighted by a two-run second inning after
Joey Nicolai's two-run RBI double to left field that saw him reach safely in his 12
th straight game. The double cemented his fifth multi-hit game after previously singling to second base on a 10-pitch at-bat.
Tucker Juline singled up the middle in the seventh inning to give UCR a 5-3 cushion before CSU Bakersfield plated four runs in the ninth.
