SRC Tennis Courts
(Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis)
The UC Riverside Highlanders men’s and women’s tennis teams compete at the UCR Student Recreation Center Tennis Courts. The tennis facility is located adjacent to the main Student Recreation Center Building at the corner of Aberdeen Drive and Linden Avenue.
The SRC Tennis Courts are undergoing a facelift beginning in the 2012-13 academic year as part of a larger renovation of the Student Recreation Center. While work on the courts is being completed, the Highlanders will practice and compete at nearby Andulka Park Tennis Center and Canyon Crest Country Club.
The SRC courts currently houses 10 tennis courts, including a sunken main court that seats approximately 300 spectators. Bleachers located adjacent to the other courts can hold as many as 750 spectators. The third set of courts feature a berm with a green belt for fans to sit and watch matches.
UC Riverside pride is evident with the Highlanders blue courts and blue windscreens, and the courts are adorned with the names of former UCR tennis greats, another example of UCR’s rich tennis tradition.
The tennis facility is a part of the larger UC Riverside Student Recreation Center, which has two sand volleyball courts, two basketball courts, and a full sized roller hockey rink. The rink features basketball backboards that allow it to be used as two full-length basketball courts.
Finally, an eight-foot wide jogging trail surrounds the entire three-quarter acre complex. All the facilities are lighted for evening use. |
