UCR's Robert Brantly Named To ABCA/Rawlings West Region First Team

Riverside—The American Baseball Coaches Association announced its ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I West Region Teams at the end of June, and catcher Robert Brantly earned a First Team nod alongside DH Justin Shults who also was named a Third Team All-American.
Brantly hit .373 as a sophomore with a .440 on base percentage and a .569 slugging percentage. He led the Highlanders with 78 base hits and finished second on the team with 50 runs scored earning himself an All-Big West First Team selection in the process.
The Detroit Tigers made the Temecula Valley, CA native the 100th overall pick in the 2010 MLB First Year Player Draft on June 8.
