Women's Golf Concludes Cal Poly Invitational In 4th Place Out Of 17 Teams

Arroyo Grande, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team fired a 315 in the second round Tuesday morning to drop back into fourth place out of 17 teams with a 619 two-round score at the Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational.
The Highlanders were just 10 strokes behind the winner, Gonzaga (609), seven back of second-place Southern Utah (612), and four behind third-place Northern Arizona (615).
This is the third straight tournament this fall season where UC Riverside has finished in fourth place.
Savannah Vilaubi, who was tied for the lead after Monday's first round score of 71, dropped back into a tie for 11th after carding an 80 on Tuesday. Her two-round total of 151 was just a stroke better than Amelia Ek, who finished in a tie for 15th place with a 152 (75-77).
The next three Highlanders players—Brittani Ferraro, Hannah Lee, and Tiffany Koyano—all finished in a tie for 38th place with identical scores of 161.
Northern Arizona's Savana Bezdicek won the individual crown with a 146, just one shot ahead of a three-way tie for second place.
This concludes the fall portion of the 2012-13 schedule for the UC Riverside Women's Golf Team. Next up is the Super San Diego Championship on February 4-5, 2013.
