Canyon Crest Country Club Leads UCR BMW Of Riverside Gary McCord Golf Challenge

Riverside—Canyon Crest Country Club took full advantage of its home course Sunday afternoon in the first round of the UCR BMW of Riverside Gary McCord Golf Challenge presented by CW Driver as they moved out to a commanding 9-2 lead over the Victoria Club through 18 holes.
The second round shifts to the Victoria Club on Monday, November 4 where the host team will try to reverse its fortunes.

Team Smith currently leads the individual battle for McCord Supremacy with an 18-hole total of 57, with Team Saldana two strokes back with a first-day round of 59.
The day began with a pre-round breakfast and a golf clinic by UC Riverside alumnus and PGA Tour Pro Brendan Steele. Tournament namesake Gary McCord will conduct a similar clinic prior to Monday's second round.
The three-day McCord, now in its 24th year, is UC Riverside Athletics signature fundraising event for athletics scholarships (Read the press release about this year's McCord).
