Vilaubi Ties For Fifth As Women's Golf Jumps Up Two Spots To Conclude UC Irvine Invitational

Santa Ana, CA—UC Riverside Women's Golfer Savannah Vilaubi finished with a seven-over-par 223 Tuesday to tie for fifth place out of 66 individuals at the UC Irvine Invitational presented by Kia.
Vilaubi's 73 in the final round helped the Highlanders move up two spots in the standings, finishing in fifth place out of 12 squads with a three-round 926. UCR lowered its score in each of the three rounds, shooting 312-310-304, and finished only four strokes back of fourth-place Portland State.
Gonzaga won the team title with an 885 followed by the host Anteaters (907) and Long Beach State (914). The Bulldogs' Alice Kim claimed individual medalist honors carding a one-under-par 215.
Amelia Ek concluded the tournament for UC Riverside in a tie for 10th place with scores of 73-77-76 (226). Brittani Ferraro tied for 40th with a 239 (84-79-76) while Hannah Lee carded a 241 (81-81-79) to tie for 49th, and Christy Fogerty tied for 52nd with a 244 (82-80-82).
The Highlanders have just four days off before returning to the links at the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, AZ on March 2-3.
