Women's Golf Concludes Fresno State Lexus Classic In 13th Place

Fresno, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team shot a 312 Tuesday in the final round of the Fresno State Lexus Classic to fall back to 13th place out of 15 teams with a three-round total of 928.
The Highlanders were in fifth following Monday's first-round score of 303, but dropped to 11th after a second-round 313, and could not make up any ground in the final round of play. UCR's total was only one back of 12th-place and four shots behind a tie for 10th.
Long Beach State claimed the team trophy firing a three-round 892, finishing one shot ahead of Tulsa (893), and four in front of third-place San Jose State (896). Long Beach State's Simone Hoey won the individual title with a five-under-par 211.
Individually for the Highlanders, Amelia Ek tied for seventh place at six-over-par 222 (75-72-75). Savannah Vilaubi had the low round of the day for UCR and finished in a tie for 18th with scores of 72-80-74 (226).
Brittani Ferraro carded scores of 77-81-80 (238) to tie for 60th while Christy Fogerty shot 79-81-83 (243) to tie for 70th, and Hannah Lee shot 83-80-84 (247) to finish 75th.
The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team now has less than a week to prepare for the Big West Conference Championships slated for April 21-23 in San Luis Obispo, CA.
