Third-Lowest Round Of Day Moves Women's Golf Up One Spot At Big West Championship

San Luis Obispo, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team fired the third-lowest round of the day Tuesday in the second round of the Big West Conference Championship to move up one spot into sixth place out of eight teams with a final round remaining.
UCR's 636 (325-311) is just four shots back of fourth-place Cal State Fullerton (632) and tops Hawai'i by two strokes and Cal State Northridge by six.
"We had a solid round today in very windy conditions," Head Coach Eric Riehle explained. "The team is excited to get back on the course tomorrow and continue our momentum."
No. 16 UC Davis maintained their lead over the field with a 593 total followed by Long Beach State (609) and UC Irvine (618).
The Aggies' Demi Runas is the individual leader with a one-under-par 145.
Savannah Vilaubi is in sixth place to lead UC Riverside with scores of 77-74 (151). Brittani Ferraro is tied for 14th place with a 156 (79-77) while Amelia Ek is tied for 25th with a 159 (82-77).
Christy Fogerty and Hannah Lee are tied for 37th place with identical 171 scores.
The third and final round of the Big West Conference Championship gets underway at 7:30 am PT Tuesday at San Luis Obispo Country Club.
