Vilaubi Ties For Fourth As Women's Golf Moves Up One Spot To Conclude Matador Invitational

Simi Valley, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team improved its scores in each of the three rounds at the Matador Invitational, and moved up one spot to conclude the tournament Tuesday with a three-round score of 934. Full Results. Day 1 Story.
The Highlanders shot 315-310 on the first day and were sixth heading into the final round, but a 309 moved them past Sacramento State into the fifth spot. UCR was also just one stroke back of fourth-place Hawai'i (933), and six behind Cal Poly in third (928).
Host Cal State Northridge won the tournament with an 887, 36 strokes ahead of the next team, BYU, with a 923.
UC Riverside's Savannah Vilaubi tied for fourth overall individually with an eight-over 224 (76-76-72). She was four shots back of a tie for second place, and eight shots behind the winner, CSUN's Clariss Guce (216).
Haley Wian was the Highlanders second-highest finisher tying for 12th with 80-75-75 (230), while Brittani Ferraro tied for 15th just two strokes back at 232 (75-80-77).
Hannah Lee came in 43rd with a 251 (84-79-88) while Paris Griffith rounded out the squad with a 264 (86-93-85) to place 51st.
UC Riverside now has two weeks off before heading to the KIA Anteater Invitational February 24-25 in Irvine, CA.
