Men's Golf Drops One Spot To Conclude Saint Mary's Invitational

Seaside, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team dropped one spot to conclude action Tuesday at the Saint Mary's Invitational, firing a three-round 919 to finish in 16th place. Team Results. Individual Results. Day 1 Story.
The Highlanders were only four shots behind 15th-place Cal State Fullerton, and six back of Cal State Northridge in 14th.
San Diego shot the low round of the day to vault into the lead and win the event, totaling a three-round score of 864, one shot ahead the host Gaels, 865.
Sam Gillis was UCR's top finisher, tying for 51st with scores of 75-77-76 (228). David Gazzolo was one shot back at 229 (77-74-78) to tie for 56th, while Matt Lutz tied for 67th with a 232 (76-79-77).
Andre Vu shot 75-79-80 to tie for 72nd place with a 234 total, while Brandon Tsujimoto rounded out the squad in a tie for 86th with a 240 (83-81-76).
San Diego's Matthias Dahl won the individual title firing a seven-under-par 209.
The Highlanders return to action with another trip to Northern California, this time at the Fresno State Lexus Classic scheduled for September 29-30 in Fresno, CA.
