FRESNO, Calif. - UC Riverside dropped game two of a season-opening three-game series in Fresno, falling 17-2. 

The Highlanders started the first and second innings with an aggressive approach, as Jacob Shanks singled to right on the very first pitch of the ball game before Anthony Mata stretched for a triple on the first pitch of the inning. 

Jacob Badawi recorded his first hit in a Highlander uniform in the sixth inning, pinch hitting for Shanks and knocking the first pitch of the frame into right field for a leadoff single.

Dylan Orick laid claim to the Highlanders' first home run of the year with a two-run shot into right field in the seventh after Ely Stuart singled to left. 

UC Riverside finishes opening weekend on Sunday afternoon with first pitch from Bob Bennett Stadium scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
